Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How is America’s Care Solutions a FREE service?

We offer individualized services with no obligations and no strings attached. We are compensated by the Assisted Living Communities and Residential Board & Care Homes, Independent Communities and Adult Group Homes in which we place our seniors. No compensation is received or earned until our client selects the community of their choice.
Q. What are the FREE services offered by America’s Care Solutions?

1. We perform a professional assessment of your lifestyle preferences, location preferences, health needs, and financial resources to determine the best options for you. A personal Community Resource Coordinator will be assigned to work with you.
2. Once we have helped you identify a list of personalized options, our Community Resource Coordinator will schedule tours and lunches at these communities. We will be your personal tour guide. We provide transportation and accompany you, so you do not have to go through this process alone.
3. Although our main objective is to help you find a new home, we provide additional support for a variety of other services, such as funding programs you may be eligible for, experienced moving companies, in-home services providers, transportation services, appropriate utility companies, and other related senior placement services.
Q. How do I know if it is time for Assisted Living?

It is usually time for assisted living placement when you or your loved one requires support and assistance with their day-to-day living activities, such as: medication management, bathing, dressing, grooming, walking, and nutrition support and meals.

Seniors with Dementia or Alzheimer's disease are also candidates for Assisted Living.

Senior community living is also appropriate for seniors who are isolated and would benefit from social interaction and activities with their peers.
Q. What communities does America’s Care Solutions work with?

We only work with licensed facilities. We are not owned or affiliated with any facility. We contract with many independent and assisted living facilities. We personally tour the communities before making any referrals, and we maintain established relationships.
Q. How much does senior housing or residential care cost?

The cost of senior housing depends on the range of services you need. As part of our senior placement service, we discuss your financial situation and guide you through your housing options and provide information about any necessary financial programs and resources.

At the high end, there are Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) that provide all options in one location from independent living to nursing home care, where you can purchase a living space. Costs for this type of facility start around $20,000.

In the mid-range, there are the board & care homes, which provide communal meals and some personal care. Possible names of such places are residential care facility, personal care home, group home, and Certified Family Homes. For example, a group home may be converted single-family houses with 2 to 6 residents. A larger apartment style, ranging from 30-100 residents, are usually referred to as Assisted Living Communities. As an example of costs, the monthly rates can range from $850 to $4000. Some facilities accept Medicaid and VA reimbursement while others are private pay only.

At the low-cost end, there are some subsidized senior housing where you pay part of the rent and government funding covers the rest. These places are called congregate housing, HUD housing, or Section 8 Housing. Your rent is based on the ability to pay—usually a percentage of your income. Unfortunately, many of these programs have long waiting lists and you must have limited income and assets to qualify. Residents do not receive any activity of daily living assistance, and therefore, must bring in their own Home Care and Home Health Care agencies. Medicare and Medicaid can assist you with these services if you are eligible.
Q. Is there financial assistance for low-income seniors?

There are several programs for very low income seniors. You may be eligible for the VA Aid and Attendance program or Medicaid long-term care plans. We help you apply to any federal programs that you may qualify for. We assist you through the entire process!
